“I played clarinet for years, but I was never good. Tenor – I was first chair in tenor. The tenor sax has heart.” – @jayharris

Some programming languages and tools have heart. Ruby has heart. It was created to be beautiful for development. Developers can love it, and they can write Ruby code with passion and feeling, and create great software.

Then there are other languages, like C# or VB. They work, but they feel cold. They fit in a sterile enterprise environment, where people write code because they get paid to do it.

Passionate developers thrive in a language with heart. Languages with a community. If you want great software, it comes from great people. Let your people use the languages and tools that speak to them.
